UK consumers not careful enough with credit card details
Amidst growing concerns over the sophistication of credit card and financial fraud in the UK, experts have revealed that consumers in the UK are failing to take even the simplest precautions in same cases with regards to keeping their credit card account information safe.
 According to the results of a recent survey and alarming number of consumers in the UK don’t think twice about reading out their credit card details over the phone whilst at work, enabling everyone within earshot to hear what the details are.
In addition to reading out credit cards details at work in front of colleagues and anyone else that happens to be in the office, the survey revealed that many people in the UK didn’t think twice about reading out their credit card details over the phone in busy places such as pubs, restaurants, and even shops, where they are surrounded by strangers and would never realize if someone memorized or wrote down the details.
Paypal officials concluded that a great many people tended to feel comfortable about giving out their credit card details over the phone whilst at work because they feel comfortable and safe in the work environment and with the people that they work with. However, it is impossible to tell when or where credit card fraud will occur, and consumers are warned to take care about giving out these details when others are around.
According to the results of the survey only a quarter of respondents had any concerns with regards to providing credit card details over the phone. However, credit card fraud has become more and more of a concern over recent years, and consumers can help to minimize the chances of becoming a victim of fraud by exercising caution when giving out their card details over the phone or even online.
